Upfirst review: pricing, call limits, features and best-fit businesses

Upfirst is a small-business AI receptionist with call-based pricing rather than minute-based pricing. This review separates facts we verified from Upfirst's current public documentation from performance questions that still require hands-on testing.

Current public pricing

PlanMonthly priceIncluded callsAdditional calls
Starter$24.95/mo30$1.50/call
Premium$59.95/mo90$1.00/call
Pro$159.95/mo300$0.75/call
Scale$299/mo600$0.70/call

Upfirst also advertises annual billing at roughly 20% below the monthly equivalent, plus custom enterprise pricing above the Scale tier. Public documentation says spam calls and calls under 15 seconds do not count toward the monthly call allowance.

Features documented across plans

24/7 answering

Businesses can route every call, overflow calls or after-hours calls to the receptionist.

Scheduling and transfers

Upfirst documents appointment scheduling and warm call transfers with configurable routing.

Texts and summaries

Call summaries can be sent after conversations, and the receptionist can send texts during calls.

Integrations

Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook and Zapier are documented, with additional white-glove integration help on higher tiers.

35+ languages

The current pricing page says the receptionist can switch languages automatically and translate transcripts.

Caller memory

Upfirst documents recognition of returning callers and recall of prior-call context.

Why the pricing model is interesting

Call-based billing can be attractive when calls sometimes run long. A 12-minute call and a 2-minute call use the same single-call unit, whereas minute-based competitors can become more expensive as talk time rises. The trade-off is that high volumes of very short legitimate calls can consume the allowance quickly.

Who should put Upfirst on a shortlist

What we have not verified ourselves

Our current position

Upfirst deserves a structured trial on pricing and documented features alone, especially for businesses with longer calls. We are not assigning a voice-quality or booking-accuracy score until we test those workflows directly.
